Gilley’s Feature Rap Artist Fat Joe at Choctaw Casino & Resort – Pocola

POCOLA, Okla., (Jan. 2, 2019) – Choctaw Casino & Resort – Pocola announced today the January entertainment at Gilley’s. Kicking off the New Year your favorite country performers and one special rap artist will perform free concerts throughout the month. Mark your calendars for one of rap music’s most influential artist Fat Joe, on Jan. 12. Other artists to perform throughout the month include, Libby Starks, Brandon Butler, Whisky River Road and more! The free live music events begin at 8 p.m. both Friday and Saturday.

 

Libby Starks: Friday, Jan. 4, 11, and 18

Lead singer of Libby Starks & Bandit Band, Libby started the band just to have some fun. Little did she know, it morphed into more than she could have imagined. Opening up for artists such as Sawyer Brown and JoDee Messina this band has a loyal following. They cover both old and new country, including songs from well-known country artists from George Straight, Reba McEntire, Johnny Cash and more. Offering something for every country music fan this band is sure to put on an amazing performance as they’ll be hitting the stage three times this month.

 

Ben Haggard: Saturday, Jan. 5

Son of country singer Merle Haggard, Ben followed in his father’s footsteps. A natural performer, Ben plays lead guitar and sings while on tour with his brother Noel and The Strangers finishing his father’s dates. Having been featured with country artist such as, Toby Keith and Jason Aldean, Ben has made quite the name for himself. Hit songs include, “Mama Tried” and “Sing Me Back Home.”

 

Fat Joe: Saturday, Jan. 12

Well-known rap artist Fat Joe currently has released his biggest record to date with Remy Ma and French Montana called “All The Way Up” which hit Top 40 in five weeks and spawned four different remixes with Jay Z, Game, Snoop Dog, E40, Daddy Yankee and Nicky Jamz. Other hit songs include, “What’s Luv,” “Make it Rain” and “Get It Poppin.”

 

Gene Watson: Saturday, Jan. 19

Referred to as “The Singer’s Singer” Gene Watson’s powerful voice and multi-octave range allows him to sing with ease as he proves to his audience that he is the master of classic country music. His most recent album release, “Real.Country.Music.,” features traditional country tracks about life, heartaches, love and family. Crowd favorites include, “Bitter They Are, Harder They Fall” and “When A Man Can’t Get a Woman Off His Mind.”

 

Brandon Butler: Friday, Jan. 25

Lead vocalist and guitarist of The Brandon Butler Band, Brandon Butler and his four-man band consist of a mixture of individuals who are influenced by a wide variety of top performers from Leann Rimes to Keith Urban to ZZ Top. The band performs cover tunes as well as a number of originals. The band is dedicated to delivering a high energy show of country hits that range from the traditional to the latest radio hits.

 

Whiskey River Road: Saturday, Jan. 26

Whiskey River Road is a honky-tonkin’ backwoods rockin’ southern rock and red dirt band. From Southeast Oklahoma this four-man cover band loves playing it loud, and playing it proud.

 

This month’s concert series at Gilley’s will be held every weekend throughout the month of January. The concerts are free to guests to listen to while enjoying a wide selection of beer or cocktails at the full-service bar. You must be 21 or older to attend.
