Gilley’s Feature 10-time Grammy Award winning band, Asleep at the Wheel at Choctaw Casino & Resort – Pocola this July

POCOLA, Okla., (July 9, 2019) – Choctaw Casino & Resort – Pocola just announced the entertainment at Gilley’s for the month of July. Enjoy your favorite country artists as they perform free concerts throughout the month. Mark your calendars, 10-time Grammy Award winning band, Asleep at the Wheel will perform on Saturday, July 20. Other artists to take the stage include, Brandon Lay, John Michael Montgomery and more. These free live music events will begin at 9 p.m. both Friday and Saturday.

 

Clint Scholz: Friday, July 12, 19 and 26

Clint Scholz and his four-man band will take the stage three times this month for you to enjoy. Often described as red-dirt country, they sing songs about love, pain and overall life experiences. They prioritize relating to their fans individually through their music. Look forward to hits “Don’t Let Me In” and “Let It Rain.”

 

John Michael Montgomery: Saturday, July 13

Part of the ‘90s wave of honky tonk hitmakers, John Michael Montgomery is best known for his romantic ballads. Issuing his first debut album in 1992, “Life’s A Dance,” Montgomery continues to perform and produce new music for over 20 years. Hit songs include, “I Can Love You Like That,” “Be My Baby Tonight,” “I Swear” and many more.

 

Asleep at the Wheel: Saturday, July 20

For over four decades, Asleep at the Wheel has been a country legend. Earning more than 10 Grammys and releasing more than 25 studio and live albums, there is no sign of slowing down anytime soon. Western swing is what the band describes themselves as and they are a thrill to hear live. Fans will hear hits from, “The Letter That Johnny Walker Read” to “Jack I’m Mellow.”

 

Brandon Lay: Saturday, July 27

Brandon Lay is a country singer and songwriter with a hint of rock & roll flare. He’s opened for country stars such as Dierks Bentley, Eli Young Band, Hank Williams Jr and more. In 2016 he co-wrote “Home Game” alongside Cole Swindell which appeared on Swindell’s second album, “You Should Be Here.” Enjoy hits such as “Speakers, Bleachers And Preachers” and “Never Look Back Town.”

 

This month’s concert series at Gilley’s will be held every weekend throughout the month of July. The concerts are free to guests to listen to while enjoying a wide selection of beer or cocktails at the full-service bar. You must be 21 or older to attend.
