Gilley’s Feature Parker McCollum at Choctaw Casino & Resort – Pocola this September

POCOLA, Okla., (Sept. 4, 2019) – Choctaw Casino & Resort – Pocola announces the entertainment at Gilley’s for the month of September. Enjoy your favorite country and rock artists as they perform free concerts throughout the month. Mark your calendars for Parker McCollum on September 21! Other artists to take the stage include, Opal Agafia & the Sweet Nothings, Brandon Butler Band, The George Strait Experience and more. These free live music events will begin at 9 p.m. both Friday and Saturday.

 

Opal Agafia & the Sweet Nothings: Friday, September 6

Drawing from many genres, Opal Agafia & the Sweet Nothings blends the best elements of soul, blues, rock, gospel, country, swing and traditional mountain music into a sound that captures the past and boldly pushes ahead. Opal’s voice is packed with power and emotion; her lyrics are sophisticated yet accessible. The band made up of seasoned musicians provides a consistently tight backdrop that pushes every song forward, compelling listeners to pay close attention, lest they miss a single minute of this show.

 

Mr. Cabbage Head and the Screaming Radishes: Saturday, September 7

Don’t let their name fool you, this ten-man band knows how to jam! Over 30 years in the industry, this band promises to deliver the best ‘60s and ‘70s acts you’ve ever seen. The band features a 10-piece horn band compiling of trumpets, saxophones, a flue and trombone. This cover band loves performing in front of a responsive crowd and is ready to provide their audience with an unforgettable show.

 

Libby Starks: Friday, September 13

Lead singer of Libby Starks & Bandit Band, Libby started the band just to have some fun. Little did she know, it morphed into more than she could have imagined. Opening for artists such as Sawyer Brown and JoDee Messina this band has a loyal following. They cover both old and new country, including songs from well-known country artists from George Straight, Reba McEntire, Johnny Cash and more. Offering something for every country music fan this band is sure to put on an amazing performance as they’ll be hitting the stage three times this month.

 

Kevin Ortiz: Saturday, September 14

Latin pop singer, Kevin Ortiz writes and sings hard-core narcocorridos which are based from stories from his beloved state of Sinaloa, Mexico. Kevin Ortíz has already released three albums and scored six songs on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart including “La Niña Más Linda,” “A Los 18,” “La Indicada,” and “Un Minuto.”

 

Brandon Butler Band: Friday, September 20

Lead vocalist and guitarist of The Brandon Butler Band, Brandon Butler and his four-man band consist of a mixture of individuals who are influenced by a wide variety of top performers from Leann Rimes to Keith Urban to ZZ Top. The band performs cover tunes as well as several originals. The band is dedicated to delivering a high energy show of country hits that range from the traditional to the latest radio hits.

 

Parker McCollum: Saturday, September 21

Parker McCollum draws inspiration from rock & roll, soul, indie rock and red dirt country. He released his debut album, “The Limestone Kid,” in 2015, but first hit the Billboard charts when his 2017 EP “Probably Wrong: Session One,” made it to number six on the Heatseekers chart. Concert goers are sure to hear hits from “Meet You in the Middle,” “Hell of a Year” and “Misunderstood.”

 

Larry B and The Cradle Rockers: Friday, September 27

Larry B and the Cradle Rockers are back to rock the night away.  During his 40-year career, the a high-energy, seven-piece cover band with a blend of rock, soul and Motown, has shared the stage with recording artists such as The Temptations, The Platters, Ronnie Milsap, KoKo Taylor and The Lucky Peters Band.

 

The George Strait Experience: Saturday, September 28

Celebrating the music of George Strait, The George Strait Experience is a 10-piece ensemble of musicians. The show truly brings the “King of Country Music” to you in a way that makes you feel like you are part of George’s tour to relive his concert memories. Caring on an authentic George Strait concert, fans will hear George’s number one hits such as “All My Exes Live in Texas,” “Oceanfront Property” and “Amarillo By Morning.”

 

This month’s concert series at Gilley’s will be held every weekend throughout the month of September. The concerts are free to guests to listen to while enjoying a wide selection of beer or cocktails at the full-service bar. You must be 21 or older to attend.
