DURANT, Okla. (August 11, 2021) – Construction on U.S. Highway 69/75 through Durant leading to Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant is about to create detours that will affect the flow of traffic through the city and access.

Beginning early on Aug. 12, a traffic switch will move the northbound lanes of U.S. Highway 69/75 to the newly constructed East Frontage Road via the new ramp located north of the 9th Street exit. The southbound lanes will be detoured to the newly constructed lanes of the West Frontage Road near the bypass. During this time, the movement for East/West Choctaw Road will be temporarily interrupted to make the switch to allow contractors to complete the permanent lanes of U.S. Highway 69/75 from 9th Street to the U.S.70 Bypass.

On Monday, Aug. 16 beginning at approximately 7 a.m., the intersection at Choctaw Road and Highway 69/75 will be temporarily closed. This will restrict east/west movement of traffic for approximately 20 days. The Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant, eastside Travel Plaza, Choctaw Event Center and Choctaw KOA RV Park can only be accessed from 9th Street or from Choctaw Road via the northbound Service Road (on the eastside of the highway).

When traveling to the casino, use the following directions:

If traveling from the south (Texas) in northbound traffic to Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant. (No Change)

• Sky Tower: Continue to take 9th street exit to access Sky Casino Valet & Sky Parking Garage.
• Grand Tower: Continue to turn right at the light on Choctaw road to access Grand Valet and Grand Parking Garage.

If traveling from the north (Durant) in southbound traffic to Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant.

• Sky Tower: Take highway 70 eastbound towards Hugo. Take the second exit to S 9th Avenue, turn right on S 9th Avenue, continue straight to turn right onto Jackpot Drive to arrive at Sky Tower Valet or Sky Casino Parking Garage.
• Grand Tower: Take Highway 70 eastbound towards Hugo. Take the second exit to S 9th Avenue, turn right on S 9th Avenue, continue straight to turn right onto Choctaw Road to access Grand Casino Parking Garage or Grand Valet.

Returning home southbound (Texas)

• Turn left on S 9th Avenue, at the second right light turn left on Hwy 70 West towards Madill, take the second right to Hwy 69/75 towards Dallas.

Returning home northbound (towards Durant)

• Turn left on S 9th Avenue, at the second red light turn left on Hwy 70 West towards Madill, take the first exit towards 69/75 North Durant.
