Durant, Okla. (February 12, 2026) — As part of an ongoing refresh, Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant’s Grand Casino will transition to a non-smoking environment, making the casino a leader amongst its peers with one of the largest non-smoking casino floors in the United States.

The Grand Casino’s update began in January 2026 and will be completed in six phases with a target completion date of late spring 2026. The updates include new carpet, walkways and lighting to give the casino a modern look.

During the refresh, guests will be directed to use different pathways to navigate the gaming floor. Games will also move throughout the process as different areas are being worked on, including table games shifting to the south side of the Grand Casino floor.

Over the coming months, as each phase is completed, the Grand Casino will transition to a non-smoking environment. The first remodeled phase will reopen on Friday, Feb. 13. Once all phases are complete, there will be 5,400 slots and 83 table games located in non-smoking areas.

The update comes two years after the completion of the Grand Tower’s refresh, which included updates to all 329 guest rooms and 18 suites.

Why is the Grand Casino transitioning to non-smoking?

The Grand Casino is transitioning to a non-smoking area to create a more welcoming environment, enhance air quality, and improve comfort for guests and associates.

Will the conference center and the Choctaw Grand Theater be non-smoking?

Yes, these areas are already non-smoking areas. The Grand Casino’s transition to a non-smoking environment will create non-smoking areas around the conference center and Grand Theater, creating a more welcoming environment for guests attending meetings and concerts at Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant.

Are restaurants and bars non-smoking?

Restaurants are non-smoking environments, and as the Grand Casino transitions to a non-smoking environment, bars located in the Grand Casino will become non-smoking as well.

Where can you smoke inside the casino?

Over the next several months, the Grand Casino will be refreshed in phases. As each phase reopens, that section will become a non-smoking area.

Once the Grand Casino refresh is complete, the Link Casino, located between the Grand Casino and Sky Casino near Guy Fieri’s American Kitchen + Bar, will remain a smoking area, as well as the outside veranda near the Choctaw Grand Theater.

The Link Casino boasts 1,700 slots, 22 table games, and a high-limit area.

How can you tell if you’re in a non-smoking area of Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant

Please look for signage that states if an area is smoking or non-smoking.

When will this change take effect?

The first phase of the Grand Casino refresh will open on Friday, February 13. That area will immediately become a non-smoking area. The refresh will take place in six phases, and as each phase reopens, that area will be non-smoking.  All phases of the Grand Casino refresh are expected to be completed by late spring 2026.

Will the entire casino be moving away from smoking areas in the future?
