Matchbox Twenty have quietly woven their songs into the very fabric of American popular culture. No matter where you are, it’s impossible not to hum along, or even sing aloud, to generational anthems like “3AM,” “Push,” “Unwell,” “Bent,” “If You’re Gone,” or “She’s So Mean.” Earning hits in each of the last three decades, the 90s, the 00s, and the 10s, they’ve gone from dominating radio airwaves and ruling MTV to piling up billions of streams, underscoring the enduring appeal of their music. As such, they’ve sold over 40 million records worldwide, topped charts, garnered multiple GRAMMY® Award nominations, and played to millions of fans across arenas, amphitheaters, and stadiums on multiple continents.
Their catalog includes the diamond-certified, 12x-platinum classic Yourself or Someone Like You [1996], quadruple-platinum Mad Season [2000], double-platinum More Than You Think You Are [2002], and gold-certified North [2012], which marked their first #1 debut on the Billboard 200. Beyond dozens of film and television syncs, their music has been covered, interpolated, or sampled by artists ranging from Steve Aoki and Kiiara to RMR, while Billboard cited Matchbox Twenty as “one of the most consistent groups of the alternative boom of the ’90s back half.”
In 2023, the band, Rob Thomas, Brian Yale, Paul Doucette, and Kyle Cook, released their first album in 11 years and fifth overall LP, Where The Light Goes [Atlantic Records], once again delivering a collection of real, relevant, and relatable songs recorded with GRAMMY® Award-nominated producer Gregg Wattenberg. That release was followed by an incredibly successful global tour spanning 2023–2024, selling out venues worldwide and reaffirming their status as one of the most enduring live acts of their generation. Night after night, the band delivered career-spanning sets with the confidence, precision, and emotional punch that only comes from decades at the top. The Slow Dream Tour cemented Matchbox Twenty as a modern force, proving their songs don’t just endure, they evolve, continuing to connect across generations with the same urgency and power as ever.
