NORMAN, Okla. (July 8, 2026)- On Wednesday, Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant made a $10,000 donation to the Oklahoma Parkinson’s Alliance as part of the casino’s “3 Months. 3 Millionaires.” promotion.

The donation was made by Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant on behalf of its June 2026 “3 Months. 3 Millionaires.” winner, Douglas C., from Norman, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2010.

“I am most excited that Choctaw made a big effort to reach out to the community, and I was able to connect them to Norman (Oklahoma Parkinson’s Alliance programs in Norman) and it turned out to be a wonderful partnership,” Douglas said.

Douglas said he benefited from speech classes offered by the Parkinson’s Alliance after his diagnosis. With Choctaw’s donation, he looks forward to reconnecting with the organization that has helped so many people living with Parkinson’s disease.

“I’m coming back strong and hope to work with them and have them help me and teach me,” he said. “It’s a tough road we have to travel but with help we can get there.”

Founded in 2004, the Oklahoma Parkinson’s Alliance is the largest nonprofit Parkinson’s support organization in the state. It offers therapy, education and support to patients and their families.

The Oklahoma Parkinson’s Alliance’s mission is to inspire hope and transform life for people with Parkinson’s in Oklahoma, said the nonprofit’s CEO, Bruce McIntyre. The donation will be used to support the Alliance’s Central Oklahoma programs for support, exercise and voice therapy.

“We were shocked and so very grateful. This is the kind of phone call you want to get!” said McIntyre. “This donation will help us keep doing what we do for Parkinson’s patients and families in the Norman community.”

Thomas O’Sullivan, regional director of marketing for Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant, was excited to see Douglas reconnect with the Oklahoma Parkinson’s Alliance and is grateful to provide an opportunity to help deepen that connection through a donation that supports programming in the Norman area.

Choctaw Casino & Resort – Durant will be donating $10,000 to two more nonprofits this summer on behalf of the July and August “3 Months. 3 Millionaires.” winners.

“We added the nonprofit donations to ‘3 Months. 3 Millionaires.’ last year as a way to make the impact of the giveaway go even farther,” said O’Sullivan. “Instead of changing the lives of just three individuals, we wanted to change the lives of the people in their communities by helping the causes nearest to their hearts. It’s an honor to be able to support these nonprofits, and we look forward to continuing these donations going forward.”
